In this temple, Lord Krishna worshiped Kauravas and Pandavas.

Every area, every village has a different old story. Where everyone has a different experience and the belief that has been held for years in the field attracts people by creating a new identity. These myths are related to the ancient Shiva temple located in Pujam village. In fact, this temple is full of devotees during Savan.

It is said that this village has been preserved not only since today but also since the time of Mahabharata. Not only that, it is said that Kauravas and Pandavas were worshiped here by Lord Krishna himself, this is the reason why the village got the name Puja because of this worship.

In fact, God Himself was worshiped here, so this place is very sacred. This is the reason why even today the people of this village do not collect their ashes after their funeral and do not flow into the Ganges etc. It is believed that one who has given his life here will go straight to Moksha Dham.

Guru Harishankar Das, who was serving in the temple, said that before the beginning of the battle of Mahabharata, Lord Krishna had instructed Kauravas and Pandavas to sit together at this place and worship Maa Durga Shakti and weapons. Shri Krishna prophesied that after worshiping Mother Durga,

Whoever gives the blessing of victory to Yudhisthira or Duryodhana, the flower of victory will come in his lap. After this the Kauravas and Pandavas started worshiping.

It is said that the modified form of the word became known as ‘pujyami’ puja. The settlement at this place came to be known as Puja. To the west of the village was a lake in the Dwapar era, which was periodically broken. There is also a magnificent pagoda along the lake. In which the spontaneous Shivling is seen in manifest form.

Identification of Swayambhu Shivling It is also believed that a Bania from nearby Siddhpur village had agricultural land here. Once while working, when he saw this ‘spontaneous Shivling’, he thought it was a stone and tried to take it out. Due to which he used to dig every day with ax, dagger or shovel.

The next morning Shivling was found back in the same condition. The same mark is left on this Shivling even today. After many days of efforts of Baniya, one night he had a dream and he told about Swayambhu Shivling and asked to build a temple there.

Impressed by this, Bania built a temple at this place. He also donated four acres of his farm land to the temple. According to the information received, Baba Ramgiri, who served in this ancient and historic temple for decades, did a lot of work for the renovation of the temple with the help of people.

The broken lake has now been renovated by the gram panchayat and turned into a magnificent lake. Every year on the second day of Vaishakh, a fair and bhandara is organized in the memory of Baba Ramgiri.

Somewhere along the way these myths and histories are still associated with people today and people still have a desire to see and gather information about such myths and ancient magnificent temples. And these myths and relics, seen everywhere, attract people to themselves.
