Dwayne Bravo became the highest wicket-taker in IPL history

Current champion Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has made history in the IPL. The 38-year-old Bravo has become the highest wicket-taker in the history of the IPL. West Indies all-rounder Bravo achieved this feat in the seventh match of the 15th season of the IPL against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Dwayne Bravo broke Malinga’s record of 170 IPL wickets by dismissing new IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants batsman Deepak Hooda. Bravo caught Hooda by Ravindra Jadeja. Right-handed Bravo (IPL’s highest wicket-taker) has taken a total of 171 wickets in 153 IPL matches. Lasith Malinga, on the other hand, took 170 wickets in 122 matches. Apart from Chennai Super Kings, Bravo has played for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions in the IPL.

3 Indian bowlers are also among the top 5 batsmen who have taken the most wickets in the IPL. Bravo tops the list while Malinga has slipped to second. Amit Mishra, who has been a part of Delhi Capitals in the last IPL, has taken 166 wickets, while Piyush Chawla is fourth with 157 wickets. Veteran Harbhajan Singh has 150 wickets in the IPL.

Speaking of the match, Lucknow Super Giants recorded their first win of the season by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets in a thrilling match. Chasing the 211-run target set by Chennai, the Super Giants won by 4 wickets with 3 balls to spare. CSK opener Robin Uthappa scored 50 while Shivam Dubey scored 49. Super Giants opener Quinton de Kok top-scored with 61 while Evin Lewis scored an unbeaten 55. Captain KL Rahul scored 40 runs.
