Lord Krishna and his wife Rukmini also had a daughter. Her name was Charumati. Charumati’s brother was Pradyumna, Pradyumna is mentioned in many mythological texts. Apart from these there were also sons named Charudeshna, Sudeshna, Susena, Charudeha, Chargupta, Bhadracharu.
Shri Krishna had ‘deer marriage’ with Rukmini. The temple from which he had abducted Rukmini. That temple currently exists. The name of this temple is ‘Avantika Devi Mandir’. The temple is about 15 km from Jahangirabad in Anupshahr tehsil of Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the banks of river Ganga.
This place is mentioned in Mahabharata and Shrimad Bhagavad. This temple of Goddess Avantika is very famous. Where mother’s devotees come from far and wide for darshan. It is believed that Avantika Devi, also known as Ambika Devi, appeared in this temple.
There are two idols in the temple, one to the left of Goddess Jagadamba and the other to the right of Satiji. Both these idols are known as ‘Avantika Devi’. Maa Bhagwati Avantika Devi is not clothed and clothed. Instead, cholas (ornaments) of vermilion and desi ghee are offered.
It is said that any devotee who offers vermilion and desi ghee to mother Avantika Devi, mother Avantika Devi fulfills all his desires. If unmarried girls do this then their marriage wish is soon fulfilled. That is because here Rukmini worshiped the goddess to get Lord Krishna as her husband.
This temple was known as Ahar in the Mahabharata period. According to mythology, Rukmini used to come here daily to worship at the temple of Goddess Avantika, situated on the banks of the Ganges. Sri Krishna and Rukmini were reunited in this temple.
Shri Krishna and Rukmini had a total of 10 sons – Pradyumna, Charudeshna, Sudeshna, Charudeha, Chanukya, Chargupta, Bhadracharu, Charuchandra, Vicharu and Charu. Some people talk of 9 sons – Pradyumna, Charudeshna, Sudeshna, Charudhadra, Dhrum, Susena, Urugupta, Charuvind and Charudhau. He also had a daughter named Charumati.
There was also a daughter named Charumati from Lord Rukmini, who is mentioned only a little in Bhagavata Purana. Nothing special is written about Charumati, but it is said that after the end of the war, when Kritavarma rejoined the Pandavas,
Then Krishna’s daughter Charumati got married to his only son Bali. However this cannot be confirmed. Duryodhana’s son’s name was Lakshman and daughter’s name was Lakshman. Duryodhana did not want his daughter to marry Krishna’s son.
So Samba and Lakshman got Gandharva marriage (love marriage). Then Samba started taking Lakshman on his chariot. When the Kauravas heard of the marriage, Duryodhana attacked her with the whole army of Hastinapur.
Samba fought alone with the army of Hastinapur, but how long will he face a huge army. Samba was defeated and the Kauravas took him prisoner. Balram reached Hastinapur after getting information about the captivity of Samba by Kauravas in Dwarka. Balram wanted to go there and hold peace talks. He said Samba should be let go and Kulvadhu should go along.
